Pesticide effects on humans

Pesticides are toxic and are used specifically to kill living organisms that cause human health problems. Pesticides are fat soluble and quickly accumulate within the human fat tissues, breast milk, and maternal blood placenta. Pesticides can enter your body during mixing, applying, or clean-up operations. There are generally four ways a chemical or material can enter the body.

  • Through the skin-dermal

  • Through the lungs -inhalation

  • By mouth - ingestion

  • It can also be absorbed through the eyes and may cause injuries to the eye itself.

Health problems that may be linked to pesticides come in the form of acute, mild and chronic effects.

Acute symptoms like headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, thirst, diarrhea, sweating, and irritation of the nose, throat, eyes or skin signal an overload on the liver -nausea, signals lactic acid buildup- cramps, mucous production- asthma and respiratory problems, memory loss and brain fog, nosebleeds, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, flu-like symptoms, leaky gut, weakness, fatigue or restlessness, nervousness, changes in mood and insomnia.

Mild symptoms include vomiting, excessive salivation, coughing, constriction in the throat and chest, stomach pain, blurring of vision, rapid pulse, excessive perspiration, blisters, trembling, muscular incoordination and mental confusion.

The chronic effects -are carcinogenic, like breast, colon, reproductive, and lung cancers. Teratogenic may cause congenital disabilities and miscarriage. Endocrine disruption (EDCs) mimicking hormones bind to - receptor sites and stimulate cancer growth in reproductive and thyroid tissues.

Reproductive - infertility, low sperm count, abnormalities in sex development. Childhood developmental & behavioural like Low birth weight, delayed cognitive development, leukemia, and autism.

Neurodegenerative diseases - Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, hyperactivity disorders. Liver damage, obesity and suppression of the immune system. Inability to breathe or increased rate of breathing. Extra phlegm or mucous in the airways and uncontrollable muscular twitching.

Most pesticides are broken down and removed from the body by the liver and kidneys, but you can detox it by -

·         Eat Brazil nuts, consume fibre-rich food, garlic, milk thistle and activated charcoal.

·         Saunas, detox, castor oil packs or clay baths, brush your skin and exercise regularly.

·         Apoptogenic combination of herbs such as Siberian ginseng, ashwagandha and Rhodiola.

·         To cleanse the gut -cascara sagrada, burdock root, psyllium husks and other fibre-containing plants.

·        Combine two tablespoons of lemon juice and baking soda, dilute it with a cup of water, spray it on the foods you want to clean, and wipe it off. Avoid using dishwashing soaps.

·         Prepare a solution of 98% water and 2% salt. Soak the fruits and veggies for 15 minutes in this solution.
